1. If you had to pick one reason that you are a part of OneLife, what would that be?
2. If God asked you to choose how He would use you, what would you tell Him you wanted to do or be in His Kingdom?
3. Do you currently have a sense of why God made you and what He wants to do through you?
Many followers wrestle with their identity. Often, regular meditation on Jesus, as well as regular prayer and conversation with God, will help you work through the difficult consideration of, 'Who am I and why am I here?' This can be a lifetime process, and it can be helpful to join a small group where you can explore this more closely with others. We currently have two small groups: one on Tuesday nights, focusing on Bible study, and one on Wednesday nights, focusing on prayer. We are also exploring the possibility of starting additional groups, so please let us know if you would like to join a group that is not currently meeting.
4. Do you have any ideas about the mission or calling God has placed on your life?
Sometimes we know a lot about which direction we are supposed to go or how we are to serve God, and sometimes it's less clear. Uncertainty is something even the most devout followers experience at times, so we should not blame ourselves when we find that we have some uncertainty about what God is doing in our lives. Often, the ministry or calling in someone's life is something that develops over time, with the guidance of fellow believers. Sometimes this is something we know in our gut and can't shake, even if we try. You are priceless in God's eyes, and He designed you for a purpose. We would love to help you live richly in the beauty of how God designed you.
5. How can your church family help you wrestle with your God-given mission and calling?
When we are wrestling with our God-given mission in life, it can be beneficial to involve other followers of Christ. Sometimes this is as fundamental as prayer support. However, it might include helping you learn new tasks, raise funds, achieve formal training goals to comply with laws and regulations, or spending time with you to explore your gifts and passions. Please let us know because we are here to support you as you follow Him.
6. What are the most significant ways in which God has changed you in recent years (actions, attitudes, understanding, heart, etc)?
7. What are the most pressing concerns in your life right now, that you feel comfortable sharing in the space below?
8 . The pastor, and elders are always available, and would love to talk to you about these things so please let someone know if you would like someone to sit and listen. Are there other concerns that you would like to talk about in person with someone?
9. Do you spend regular time meditating on Jesus by filling your mind with the truth about who He is and His life?
There is a difference between modern-day Eastern meditation and the Christian practice of meditation. Eastern meditation is often about clearing our minds and trying to empty them. Christ-centered meditation is about filling our minds and hearts with Him and learning to focus and center ourselves on Jesus.
10. Do you spend regular time praying and talking to God?
Remember that you are not less devoted or spiritual if you do not have a regular prayer habit - there is no such thing as a "Junior Edition" of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, you, as a follower of Jesus, have the fullness of the Spirit with you now. However, regular time in prayer is a beneficial practice for followers of Jesus, so let us know if we can help you develop this habit.
11. What things would those messages cover, or what are some of the titles of those messages?
Imagine that you got a sneak peek at the next message series at OneLife and discovered that it was about the exact things that you were hoping would be covered.
12. Is there anything you would like to communicate or highlight, or anything that you feel we might be able to improve or address?
